As a musician, I know music improves health. I've felt sad and downtrodden countless of times. However, when I play music, all these problems go away.

Music is my greatest stress reducer.

Getting a massage is a close second.

And eating is a comfortable third.

According to this article on Huffington Post, music improves health by:

1. reducing stress and anxiety

2. decreasing pain

3. improving immune system / preventing disease

4. aiding memory

5. helping us exercise

There are plenty of articles on the Internet that go into detail about how music improves health. Five is actually a low number, I am sure there are hundreds of ways music improves health, directly or indirectly.

As for me, I know that I have always turned to music no matter what my mood is. Music uplifts me when I am down, makes me even happier when I am happy, relaxes me when I am stressed, and readies me for whatever life throws at me.
